Bonus marchers included the World War One veterans who did not get their compensation for fighting in the war. Many veterans and fighters of the war were never the same after the war, mentally and physically harmed for their entire life. The bonus army spreaded around the United States in many places with trains and vehicles traveling to the capital to protest for their bonus they deserve for fighting in the World War One. The war was provided with conscripted (drafted) american army men, the first american troops arrived in France in 1917. Thousands killed and thousands gassed and injured within eighteen months. African Americans felt welcome in France and they fought along side with France. After the war ended, war bonds were promised to be given to them after war, but were never fulfilled to their promise. In 1924, the congress passed the bill of the veterans getting their bonus, but if they die is when it is granted, they do not get it while being alive. Bonus marchers were ran out of their camps, and veterans were evicted and looked hopelessly for jobs all around. On November 8th of 1932, President Roosevelt was elected as president, americans are still in desperate need of jobs and wealth. He sent men to work in rehabilitation camps, as separate men came in and murdered them. After the deaths of many veterans, the bill was slowly passed fully, veterans are promised their compensation, and they receive their money. On December 7th of 1941, Pearl Harbor was attacked causing World War Two, the army was then compensated, again. Americans still today expect their promise of compensation for working the dangerous conditions and protecting our country. I could not agree more for all they do for us, they deserve more than what they receive now today. Americans hope the government never lose their promise of their
