The book a Long Walk To Water has two stories two different times and one country Southern Sudan. The book a long walk to water is about a normal boy from southern sudan, and how his life was changed because of the civil war. He quickly went from the son of an important man in his village to an orphan. He walked for months before arriving to a refugee camp in ethiopia then he walked to kenya hoping for something better. He slowly learns english in the refugee camp in Kenya thanks to a aid worker named Michael. One day Salva finds his name on the list of people going to America. Salva goes to Rochester New York and gets adopted by a family. In Rochester he goes to Community College and gets a degree in business. While checking his email one night Salva saw that he got an email from his cousin who is a United Nations aid-worker and he said that he found Salva’s dad. So Salva planned for months and months to go see his dad in the hospital. He goes back to Sudan to see his father. Nya is 11 years old and walks 8 hours a day twice a day to get water for her family. Nya wants to go to school and wants to get an education but the nearest school is a twelve hour walk away and she has to get water for her family. Nya also has a little sister named Akeer in the middle of the story and Akeer gets sick from the water and makes the decision to walk to the nearest clinic. After this these mysterious men came and they started looking at their trees. It turned out that these men wanted to dig a well for the village the leader Salva. These men dug the well for the village so everyone could have clean safe drinking water. After this happened the village built a clinic and a school, they also started up a market for people to trade goods. The well helped this village and many other villages around them, Salva made a huge impact on these people's
