Different Not Less “The Acorn People” is a great book that teaches that disabled people are humans too, there is no difference in the mind. What I took away from the book was, like Temple Grandin's movie, was people may be a little bit different from us but they are certainly not less. An example is Benny B. He is no different in the way his mind works, the only difference is the paralysis in his legs. Or like Aaron he has a colostomy bag but he still gets embarrassed by it. A great example is Martin the only thing wrong with him is that he is blind but that doesn’t slow him down at all.
