Wisteria and Whitford Allgood more commonly known as Wisty and Whit live normal lives as a brother and sister who go to high school, rack up detentions, and often cause trouble. One day while they are at home with their parents they hear their front door go plummeting to the ground and the sound of soldiers scramble over each other yelling for them to freeze. It was at that moments that the Allgoods realized that not only would they not see each other for a long time, but they were now labeled as high-risk fugitives and that label would not change for a long time.
Witch and Wizard takes place in the far future where a powerful, but devilish leader takes over the overworld and the underworld. He is known as The One Who is The One. Another main character is Byron Swain who appears in many chapters all through the story and holds a very important place in the story. Other characters include the rebel characters, half-lights which are dead people but have unfinished business, the dead, lost ones who once were humans and now are horrible creatures who feed on human flesh, narrows which are people who have some magical powers, and finally, there are straights who have no magical powers. He has taken over the entire overworld and is now working on trying to expand his empire by taking over the underworld along with the…show more content… After finding the rebels they take Whit and Witsy to a bombed out mall called Garfunkle's which the rebels call home. From there they plan an attack to free a prison full of innocent kids as an act of rebellion. They and a small group of rebels manage to free the entire prison and change two of-of The One's main government officials into cockroaches one the way out. After that, they go back to Garfunkle's they celebrate for a short while before they are introduced to their new mission that begins in the next
