Booker T. Washington was a strong man who faced many challenges to become the man he is known today. Throughout most of his childhood Booker was fought with many speed bumps which have caused him to slow down such as discrimination, hard labor, and not having basic rights. These challenges helped for Booker T. Washington to become a strong individual that was very education and was preaching the gospel to others so they could rise from social injustice and prove that colored people could have the same rights as whites. Some challenges and injustice Booker T. Washington had to endure that helped him build his character was being a slave and the rights that were not permitted to a slave such as having to be forced into hard labor causing him to be uneducated, not being able to go to school because of prices, and having injustice and discrimination towards him because he was colored. …show more content…
This piece of evidence shows that in the society back then blacks were considered below white as if they were the dirt below white people feet. This shows that there was social injustice because blacks were considered below whites showing that they were treated nastier and harsher. Because Booker T. Washington faced injustice and social discrimination himself, he proved to be a better leader/preacher because he was able to relate to others that also come from a situation in poverty, or come from the same background as him. In conclusion the challenges Booker T.
