Borderline Personality Disorder is a pattern of instability in interpersonal relationship, self-image and emotions. People with this disorder normally have a mood disorder, eating disorder or substance abuse problems also. Borderline Personality Disorder occurs usually early adulthood. Symptoms of personality disorder are impulsivity, recurrent suicidal behavior, chronic feelings of emptiness, and difficulty controlling anger.
1. Occupational Profile Jayna is a 24-year old Caucasian women diagnosis with borderline personality disorder. She does not work. She has a history of depression, suicidal ideations and gestures, and alcohol abuse. Her outpatient psychologist as a means for her to gain control over herself instead of having to be hospitalized

She ran away from home and found later by police in another city when she was arrested for stealing. Jayna fired several doctors but has stuck with her current Dr. Jansson for the past 3 years. Jayna is plagued with feelings of uncertainty regarding her purpose in life and self-worth. She has been unable to hold a job more than a few weeks, she states “the boss is an ass” or the job is “boring as hell”. She is enrolled in several college courses. Her goal is to continue the day program simply to keep a deal with Dr. Jansson and be finished with it as soon as possible.

2. Jayna has no cognitive, visual, hearing, sensory, or perceptual deficits. She has no limitations in her physical stats. She is independent in her ADL’s and IADL’s at home. She reports her duties at home are to make her own meals, clean her own room, and care for her laundry. When asked about how she spends her free time, Jayna laughs and says “Sex! How about you?” She does not drive; she takes the bus to get around in the community.

3. Because of her reoccurring hospitalization she was unable to complete school and never went back. She also needs to refocus frequently. During her evaluation Jayna asked questions about the staff members and patients who attended in the past. She makes comments under her breath regarding the appearance of others as they walked
