I am a delegate from the Virginia colony and I do so believe that we, the Patriots, definitely deserve to be chosen as the final winners of this debate. The Loyalists are proposing that we make a peaceful resolution with the Parliament. However, we have already tried this method in the form of the Olive Branch Petition of 1775. This attempt has failed, as King George Ⅲ rejected our attempt and refused to let us. If they don’t want to make peace, why should we bother forcing them to?
