I am a delegate from the Virginia colony and I do so believe that we, the Patriots, definitely deserve to be chosen as the final winners of this debate. The Loyalists are proposing that we make a peaceful resolution with the Parliament. However, we have already tried this method in the form of the Olive Branch Petition of 1775. This attempt has failed, as King George Ⅲ rejected our attempt and refused to let us. If they don’t want to make peace, why should we bother forcing them to? Clearly, our only solution left is rebellion. The tories say that this rejection was our fault, as we wasted their tea in the Boston Tea Party. We did this for a good reason, however.
