Brahman
Brahman is the all powerful being that Hindus believe in,“To Hindus only Brahman exists forever” (p 146). They believe that he keeps destroying and recreating the the universe forever. Everything is considered a part of it, even the souls of the people. It’s sort of a forever changing but at the same time it is not. I chose to draw a golden circle and people connected to it to represent the idea of Brahman. The golden circle represents Brahman because no one really knows what he looks like. An orb like golden shape seemed to be a good way to represent him. The people connected to the circle is meant to show how people's souls are believed to be connected to Brahman. Deities are believed to be the different forms of Brahman. “ Each of them represented a power or quality of Brahman.”(p 147) I chose to draw one of the Deities of hinduism. In this case I drew Indus the god of lighting. They believed that if gods had more than one hand that represented power so I drew Indus with 4 hands. I also drew him as a fierce god throwing lightning bolts. My deties symbol relates to Hinduism because it is one of the many deities of Hinduism.

Dharma
Dharma is the basic duties that you must follow. “To follow one’s dharma means to perform one’s duties and so live as one should.” (p 148) The dharmas are usually based on what caste system you are in. For example Brahmans were to enlighten people on religion. For the symbol I chose to draw nonviolence. The gun and the sword are to represent weapons that are used to hurt people. The big X is meant to say that it is not allowed. They believe in not hurting soul’s so that led me to draw the symbol. My dharma symbol relates to Hinduism because non violence is one of the many deities that Hindu’s live by.

“ Samsara ends when the soul escapes from the cycle of rebirth and is united with Brahman…” (p 150) The process of finally escaping takes many lifetimes to accomplish. For my drawing I chose to draw the cycle of life. I first started as a baby, then went to toddler. Then to kid, next to teenagers, than young adults, next middle aged person, then and old person, and finally a grave to represent death. They are all going around a circle because they think of time as a circle and circles are never ending. It is basically the cycle of life. My samsara symbol represent the Hinduism belief because it is showing the process of being reborn multiple
