What Our Brave World Is Coming To Our world is forever in many ways including the ways we interact socially with each other. More and more everyday morals are changing and things that weren’t acceptable in the 1920’s aren’t even considered. Our great grandparents’ modesty is thought of as a ludicrous way of living. Society is losing all of its morals and things that weren’t socially unacceptable even ten years ago are becoming the normal everyday way of being. Ways of interaction that would of been excessively taboo are now considered socially (Thunn) expectable. The over sexualized ways of being distorts our relationships with others. Soma in the story had very similar effects to alcohol only without the negative side effects. It has been scientifically proven alcohol and drugs distort your judgment even in moderation (Thunn). Distorting human morals and teaching over sexualized ways of being along with the mixture of alcohol and drugs people are more likely to engage in sexual conduct making it more socially acceptable. Society is even being distorted with the use of many forms of drugs making more things seem acceptable and a proper way of being.
Dressing modest is getting to be more and more of a challenge even for young little girls. Clothing is a big part of how we dress and by dressing and showing so much skin is how people perceive us (Pickles). In Brave New World it was very common to get clothes often and receive clothes as gifts (Huxley). It was considered to be unappealing to be overweight or to have children (Huxley). In our society its becoming more common to be “body shammed” and to make fun of a person’s appearance
