A monomyth is a hero’s journey. The monomyth, derived from Joseph Campbell, is basically the idea that every heroic story follows a certain structure. Braveheart follows this structure up until the end because the hero dies. Braveheart displays many features of the Hero’s Journey because it shows brave heroes, battles, and gifts.
Braveheart is a movie about William Wallace and all of his battles for independence. William Wallace was a Scottish knight born in the 1270’s.
