The argument of evaluation of The Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club on the surface may seem like a cute teen movie. Once you begin to watch the movie, you realize how deep the movie is. Throughout the movie, you learn the eccentric things that happen between strangers when they are forced into social interactions with each other. The Breakfast Club is one of the best movies of the 80s because of the humor and because it goes beyond being just another average 80s teen movie.
In most movies from the 80s, the teens would be portrayed as happy and never having troubles at home, but for them, their problems only start when they get home from school. The Breakfast Club even foreshadows the teens lives of parental abuse and neglect by how they enter the school. You can tell that their school lives are affected by their parent’s neglect and the lack of love at home. For example, the movie shows how the students felt like they need to put on a facade while at school. The problems are so real to almost any high school student. There is no sugar coating the main issues each student is having.

The humor is delivered in famous one liners, such as when Bender says, “Screws fall out all the time, the world is an imperfect place” (Bender). You might laugh when something is said that is not politically incorrect. Sometimes you will even laugh at simple facial gesture. What brings together the humor is the impeccable acting by all the characters. Even characters with small roles help the movie develop. The Breakfast Club is funny without trying to be funny.
The Breakfast Club paved the way for 80s teen movies with deeper meaning. It shows you to the reasons some students act the way they do and the many emotions that students feel are shown throughout the movie. Hopefully the next time people watch The Breakfast Club they will watch for these underlying
