Did you know the 67% of people are so gullible you almost need a new adjective to describe them? Now, that statistic is totally fake news, but it was believable, wasn’t it? Now, I’m going to tell you about some things you might have trouble believing. Dancing at a concert on stage with a snake, an unknown figure slashing up prostitutes, and a mix tape in space?! Each one is more unbelievable than the next! In 2001, Britney Spears wowed the 2001 VMAs audience, and scores of people watching live from home, when she danced around with a Burmese python draped around her neck like it was no big deal. Turns out, the snake is named Banana, and the snake was, at the time, seven feet long! “Since it’s debut in 2001, Banana the snake has become a mythical figure in Spears's legacy… But what do we really know about this so-called Banana?” When the 15th anniversary of Spears’ “I’m a Slave 4 U,” VMAs performance came around, Crystal decide to use her journalism degree from NYU to try to figure what in the world happened to “Banana.” Surprisingly, Britney Spears has had an impact on the popularity of Burmese pythons. Banana, however, isn’t actually an albino, he’s hypomelanistic (Bell). Many people think that this performance was totally strange and out of this world.
