Coincidentally, the recent court case with Brock Turner has brought up the issue of corrupt officials. I can’t say anything about the judge other than the fact that he did his job and used his best judgment for the case. But whether or not his best judgment was ideal is up for debate. As for Turner, his actions were terrible but I think it’s possible for him to change. On the other hand, I also think it would be unfair to the victim if Turner got away with only a few months in prison. The problem is that the U.S. prison system focuses more on punishing people rather than helping them fix their problems and reintegrating back into society.
