Although most times when we hear the word future we imagine great advances, seldomly would we expect a society that is less advance then one of the 1400s. In Anthem by Ayn Rand, Equality 2521 was a member of a dystopian society that worshipped the idea of brotherhood. In this society the concept of self love was eradicated. It can be concurred that the development of the peer worshipping society led to the grime outcome similar to one of communism, characterized by discouragement of advances and free thought. The development of this society led to backwards thinking and complete abandonment of original and progressive thought, the basis to technological advances.
