Purpose: To demonstrate how to make buckeyes

I. Introduction (story, shocking statement)

It was a week before homecoming freshman year and I was having a sleepover at Sarah Bihn’s house. As usual, me and Sarah decided we would watch a movie, and as usual, we could not get her DVD player to work. Sarah then asked her dad if he would get the movie to start, and he said that he would think about it, and she asked him again, and they went back and forth like they normally did. In the end, Mr. Bihn said he would start the movie if Sarah would make him cookies. She agreed and he started our movie. Mr. Bihn died the next day. Procedure
Put chocolate chips and wax into the top pot of the double boiler and you fill the bottom with water
Place graham crackers into a baggie and break them up with your hands -The graham crackers give the peanut butter a texture like a Reese’s cup (comparison) Smash with heavy glass until the graham crackers are fine crumbs -My family normally makes buckeyes around the holidays, like Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter, (specific example 2) and when we make buckeyes, we make a whole lot. Hours upon hours of buckeye making in not fun for a child, but I was always very excited to break up the graham crackers.
In a large mixing bowl combine peanut butter, powdered sugar, butter, and graham cracker crumbs by hand
-When I was little I would make these with my mom and everytime she would do something I would take a handful and eat it, but I wasn’t allowed to, so instead of just chewing it I would hold the peanut butter in my mouth until she would look away. (illustration)
Roll mixture into 1 inch balls
-The should be about as wide as a quarter (comparison)
Use a toothpick to dip the peanut butter balls into the melted chocolate
Stick the toothpick in until you get past the pointed
