Buddhism Vs Confucianism

As I read about Confucius in the description of him by Warren Matthews in World Religions can be seen as a teacher more of a teacher of ethics than religion as I understood the reading. To begin, I say that Confucius is more of a teacher of ethics than religion because Confucius focuses on getting people to be good in society as having a social reasonability in helping each other. For example, “the husband has responsibility for li toward his wife as she has an obligation for li toward him” shows how what Confucius believed that people have to serve other people as being good. Second, Confucius is more of a teacher of ethics, as he believed that people are naturally good to just need role models who are good to follow, as he became that of the Chinese people. As Confucius called this person to be “the gentleman or superior man”. Lastly, I see Confucius as a teacher of ethics rather than of religion because as he emphasized the way to be good as a daily thing as said the “younger people learn from their elders, and the elders learn from observing the junzi” of each other to not just one person or thing to look upon. …show more content…
To start, Buddhism and Confucianism complement each other by that there is no God to look upon to it is only each other who are role models to look upon. Second, in pervading everyday life is to live life in the best possible way of just being good and loving each other of removing the hate from each other to be in harmony without suffering. Finally, to what happens when we die Buddhism and Confucianism also go hand in hand as both say in a way to live a life to the fullest is to be good and to stop the temptation of craving things that are not necessarily in life to just respect and care for
