Thirty percent of the youth in the U.S is effected by this says Mike Ansel. Can you guess what it is? Well sadly the answer is bullying. Many schools in the U.S use bullying awareness programs. Is this a good thing? Yes, having a bullying awareness program is a good thing because the victim of bullying can suffer from depression, decreasing academic behavior, and cyber bullying. Depression is BIG in bullying. Think about all the mean thing said to the victim by the bully. But, here’s the real shocker it doesn’t just effect the victim it effects the bully to. Here’s the big thing though depression isn’t always just depression it can be linked to self – esteem issues, anxiety, and high rates of school absence (bullyingstatics.org). Well, statics show that, in some cases, this is wrong. That it all depends on how the school believes that the bullying awareness program should be ran. “Anti-bullying school programs are often effective when supported by teachers, parents and local community agencies. By enlisting outside support, schools can gain valuable insight and services from a wide spectrum of sources.”(nobullying.com) So you see a bullying awareness program can be effective it all depends on the way that you go about
