Burning the American Flag should not be protected under the freedom of expression part of the constitution. There are many people that will argue if it should or should not be protected under the freedom of expression part of the constitution. It should not be because even though it shows how people feel, The American Flag is our strongest symbol and should not be disrespected in any way. Also it should be be protected because many men and women fight for everyone in this country to stay safe and live a free life. Burning the flag would be like talking to a World War 2 veteran and then all of a sudden slapping them in the face. Nobody would do that to an elderly veteran but the people who disrespect our country are showing that they could care less if those who fought and for those who are still fighting to this day. There should be consequences for those who decide to burn The American Flag. There are people who burn the flag and do not have any consequences. They should have a consequences. Others say that it should, which it should because it is showing how people feel at the moment and how they feel about what the country is doing. Burning the flag is ok. The flag is made everywhere in the country and they can be replaced. Some people over exaggerate the fact about burning the flag. Burning the flag should not have any consequences, It is Freedom of Expression. In conclusion, burning the flag should not be protected because even if it does show how people feel, it is disrespecting the country you live in. There are 2 main reasons the flag should not be burned. First, The American Flag is our strongest symbol and it should not be disrespected in any way.
