Surprisingly, even some of the top performing business startups and established enterprises don't have even a minimal emergency preparedness program in place. Moreover, recent studies indicate that up to 87 percent of the businesses that don't have an emergency, or contingency plan in place, go out of business within six months after a data loss or unforeseen event taking place.(1)

The New York City Port Authority Police Department(NYPAPD) lost 37 officers, two supervisory heads and one police dog in the World Trade Center (WTC) attacks. Unfortunately, as well prepared as was the PAPD for eventual terrorist attacks, the headquarters lay at the base of the WTC, and almost all on duty that day perished underneath it. As a result of the attack, the majority of rescue operations were brought to a screeching halt.(2)

Attacks on today's schools and on-site businesses warrant having not only survival equipment on hand, but armed guards as well.
