Process Design for Riordan Manufacturing (Intro) Riordan’s manufacturing in Hangzhou China produces fans for their many consumers. Riordan’s goal is over the next two years to increase sales. Team D is proposing an innovative process design for Riordan Manufacturing that will forecast and improve sales. The design focuses on the phases relevant to improving engineering, inventory management, and the manufacturing process of Riordan electric fans, from beginning to end. The design will integrate optimization of the supply chain; it will also take advantage of global the market, in which the company can implement its product. The new design will attempt to remove bottlenecks in the process in an effort to ensure the supply chain functions at its best. The production forecast for the fans will include and a Gantt chart. Finally, a cover letter will explain the aggregate operations planning and TQM for the Riordan electric fans.

Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
MRP systems have been installed almost universally in manufacturing firms. MRP is a logical, easily understandable approach to the problem of determining the number of parts, components, and materials needed to produce each end item, and it provides the schedule specifying when each of these materials, parts, and components should be ordered or produced (Chase, Jacobs, & Aquilano, 2006). LTD will focus on how to best employ the latest applications of MRP to make the manufacturing process of the various mass produced electric fans as efficient as possible.
According to the inventory report, Riordan maintains a stock of 7200 fans in each of the 12 varieties they mass produce. However, sales of each model vary quite significantly (See attached spreadsheet). Assuming the number of parts are the same for each model, (fan motor, blades, housing, and packaging), we can project the
