1. The water molecule is important to every organism. Water helps to break down other cells in the body to produce new cells and other vital things to continue life. Without water in the body or organism the body or organism will dehydrate and die. Without water things cannot live. Also, too much water is called water intoxication. People and things can die from that as well because it slows down and ceases the production of cells and can also make cells swell up and cause death.

2. Water disassociates to form the OH- ion or the hydroxide ion, and the H3O+ ion, otherwise known as the hydronium ion.

8. When an acid is combined with a base, neutralization occurs. The result of neutralization is a salt and water. Neutralization helps return our body pH to neutral. The process of our bodies maintaining neutral pH so that proteins can work properly without being denatured (unfolded) is known as homeostasis.
