Teens here in Australia are advantageous for the accessibility of a number of different specialty stores. It is common for teenagers to buy whatever they wish to, without extra thought applied. They aren’t aware of the methods of payment made or the refund/exchange policies of particular stores. The process of a contract made between both parties is a very important act. When this act is misused, disappointments can take place from either parties but mostly from consumers. Teenagers take the responsibility of making an offer and buying the products. However, their responsibilities do not end after they have made the choice of buying the product; they will have to reassure. Sometimes if a young consumer buys a product, when they return home, they may be disappointed with the merchantable quality they may have expected. Even if this may be the case, young consumers also have to note that if the item you have bought is faulty, the signs of ‘no refund/exchange’ will mean nothing as refunds are quite misleading as the seller cannot refuse a refund or exchange. If they are faulty when manufactured or do not meet merchantable qualities; consumers have the right to seek a refund or exchange. This is a disadvantage for consumers to satisfy their needs and fix what they wanted. Actions like impulse buying can lead to this sort of happenings.

Similarly, developments in transportation and technology have provided consumers with a wide range locations and sources from which to purchase products. Typo normally may travel to their local retail stores but the trend of internet purchasing and mail order are growing among teenage consumers. This may seem more convenient to them as they may have a lot of work to do and they might really want to go shopping but do not have the time to do so; instead they may insist their parents for them to purchase online. Of course internet purchasing can be advantageous through ways like convenience and easier comparison shopping, but the disadvantages do outweigh them. If this becomes a habit, consumers may experience the following:
Sometimes the goods are damaged in transit
Consumers are unable to inspect and select goods before they are bought
Extra mailing charges
Return of faulty product will take time and effort
Supplying credit cards can be risky
If internet purchasing is avoided, consumers will not face these disadvantages if they take the time to visit local retail stores.
