Theme. By further developing these codes into themes, we can explain each category making connections to patterns that are seen within the viewbook. The home away from home category refers to Kings as a not only a place for students to study, but also a place where students can relax, have fun and interact with others. On page 6 and 7 in the yearbook, we see a bundle of images displaying the varies resources King’s offers to students. The welcoming environment category refers to King’s as a school accepting off all people whom offers help and assistance to anyone who needs. Themes, facilities, human characters, and human experiences, were analysed in order to understand what it is like to be a student at Kings. When portraying Kings as a home away from home, there are four images between pages 6 and 7 that display King’s as a home away from home. There is one picture where a few students are huddled around a fireplace, chilling out warming up by the fire. Another image shows a couple students working out in the fitness facility. In the picture, we see a female discussing or explaining something to a number of female students. It can be assumed that the learning experience at King’s is wonderful because each student seems genuinely interested in what she is saying. Some of the facial expressions of the students seem to be shocked even really fascinated by what the professor or speaker is saying. On page 14 and 15 there are many students who expanded their learning experience by going on exchange in other countries around the world. Not many schools offer students this opportunity which is another reason why King’s is portrayed as a wonderful learning experience. Going to school in another country is truly a wonderful experience as students get to experience not only what life is like but what it is like to be a student in another
