Creating a movie based off a book can be hard to get all the parts into one movie.Since the producer Robert Mulligan leaves out important events some readers are disappointed. They read the book creating an image of the settings,character,and interactions throughout the whole novel. Unfortunately the book and movies don’t always match up throughout all the events in the movie and what the readers think of or just leave out important parts or roles. For example some events thats were left out in the movie that were in the book are the visit to Calpurnias church and several interactions with Boo. In the story Calpurnia is like a mom to Scout and Jem. Calpurnia helps them grow and mature through out the book and is a big role in their life. She is definitely a mother figure to them and you see this in the novel when she says, “I don’t want them saying I don’t take care of my children”, (Lee 199 p.g.) when she is getting them ready to go to her church. Which they completely leave that scene out of that movie. From that visit they learn what it’s like to attended a black church. Boo does several things little things through out the novel that they don't include in the movie. Like the treasures he leaves in the trees. When he sews the pants instead he folded them. Also Mrs. Maudie's house doesn't burn down which shows he really cares for them because he places a blanket around Scout. The reader doesn't get the same since in the movie about Boo they do in he novel. The only big part where you see him care for them is when they get attacked on the way home from the pageant. He shows that he trust Scout by asking, “ will you take me home?”(lee pg 282). He trust them and sees him as his kids but the reader doesn't since that as much in the
