Camp Daisy A week and a half of brutal staff training I could tell I was ready for this job I love working with children and being a strong leader and an inspiration for little girls in girl scouting. This has been my first real life job I have done. Getting my schedule a few days before I had to leave to clean the camp up to the very last of cleaning the camp up for the rest of the year was such a journey that changed my life intensely. Walking into my first staff meeting was such a rush and waiting for the bus to bring the girls to the camp to the car riders coming with their parents and missing them dearly. I remember walking into the dining hall with my green polo, and khaki shorts was killing me from how hot that summer was on the record books. I walked in and everyone yelled, “RICO!” And I exclaimed back, “Everyone, oh how I missed you guys!!” There was no turning back once I walked thru those doors, the commitment I gave to everyone there was such a powerful thing, this was my dream to be a camp counselor for years and all the on the side training I prepared myself for this moment. Saying to myself over and over, “this is it. This is it.” AS I was giving myself some reassurance this whole situation, walking into to the rustic looking dining hall with the air-conditioning blowing on me, the thrill of being there in the outdoors and having fun with a group of twelve girls. Being a camp counselor has such a big responsibility behind it like, making sure they don’t have the “five M’s” but there really are six of them.
