Introduction
1.) No one wants to hear someone they love has cancer; especially not a parent.
2.) According to my survey 3 out of 8 people know someone who is or has suffered from childhood cancer.
3.) The American Cancer Society, Global Cancer facts and figures show that 15,780 children and teens will be diagnosed each year in the United States & 175,00 worldwide. After looking over the survey majority of you already knew this.
4.) What the results of the survey did show was that the majority did not know was of this 15,780, 10,450 were under the age of 15.
5.) Diagnosing children with cancer is much more difficult due to most symptoms are almost always associated with everyday ailments.
6.) In this informative speech I will be touching base on the five most common childhood cancers

A.) This makes up 34% of all children with cancer.
B.) Usually the most common age is between two and four years old.
C.) Yet it is unknown why but, this type of cancer is found mainly in males versus females.
D.) Children diagnosed with lymphoblastic Leukemia have a high survival rate at 90%.
2.) The second most common is brain tumors.
A.) Brain tumors make up 27% of childhood cancer.
B.) Although there are many types of brain tumors, in children they tend to form in the lower parts of the brain, like the Cerebellum or brain stem.
C.) The survival rate ranges from 75% to 95%.
3.) Neuroblastoma makes up 7% of cancer in children which makes it number three in the top five most common.
A.) This type of cancer is formed from immature cells and starts in the adrenal gland and is commonly found in children under five years old.
B.) Unlike leukemia this type of cancer is more common in females than in males. Again there is still no known reason for this.
C.) The survival rate is based on the stage of cancer; low to intermediate risk survival rates are at 95%.
