Have you ever put yourself in someone else’s shoes to imagine what they have been, or are going through? Not just any ordinary person, but a poor person; Lacking money, and a big place to stay, to even having to share clothes, and skip a couple of meals. Rural poor people really have a lot to deal with in life, some, more than others. One of the worst things that can possibly happen to a poor person is developing cancer. Whenever cancer hits the body of a poor person, it has to be the worst thing that could possibly happen to that person. Cancer is basically a disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in the body. Cancer can cause signs and symptoms depending on where it is in the body. The signs are abnormal lung sounds, fast breathing, and fevers. Those signs can be noticed by a Doctor or a family member. Unfortunately there is not a cure for cancer, but researchers are not giving up. Cancer is really nothing to play with; about 7.6 million people die from cancer worldwide. About 12.7 million people find out that they have cancer worldwide. It has been proven that more people die from cancer than Aids. Being poor and having cancer can be a big struggle. Many lack health insurance, and can’t afford to cover the expensive of the cure to their diseases. Many rural poor people have to make decisions on what their money should go to. They have to worry about using money for gas and not having any to pay for their health. They also have to figure out where they are going to get money from to buy their kids clothes, food, and whatever else they need. They have to worry everyday on how they can put their children through college if they are unable to receive any scholarships. Whenever cancer hits the body of a poor person, it has to be the worst thing that could possibly happen to that person. That particular person level of stress increase tremendously, because that person was already stressing about finding out how bills and such was going to get paid off. A poor person
