Ultrasound Technicians or Diagnostic Medical Sonographers operate machines in the medical field called sonographic scanners. These sonographic scanners use high-frequency sound waves and allows the technician as well as other doctors see images of the patients' internal organs and often babies. Ultrasound technicians work with patients directly as well as physicians. As an ultrasound technician, you may work in physician offices, clinics, or hospitals or any other place that uses sonographic scanners (study.com/ultrasound_technician.html).

I have good listening skills which will allow me to listen to the needs of my patients and address them accordingly. The only thing I need work on that would be very beneficial for me is having better verbal skills, it is easier for me to talk to a person one on one rather than a group of people and I know sometimes it will not be just one person I must interact with at a given time. I am very shy but I know with time, the communication part of the job will get easier for me. Although I am going to have to wait an extra year than what I had planned on, I know it will be for the better in the long run because I will not be stuck going to a job I hate every day like I do now. I am still trying to decide exactly what path of sonography I want to go into because there are so many to choose from. I am leaning more towards obstetrics even though I absolutely cannot stand children, who knows, maybe that’ll change with the job. After completing my research, my opinion on a job as an ultrasound technician did not change because I just know that is what I want to do and I know I will have a love for it once I get to do
