Career Narrative

“Do what you love, love what you do” My brother always said, “That you should chose a career that you honestly love because you will be doing for it for the rest of your life”. My career goal is to become a child and family social worker. I have chosen this career because I have a passion for helping people and it is something I will enjoy doing. What interests me about it was that I get the chance to help children and families in need of assistance. I think i’ll be successful at it because i’m not just doing it for the money i’m actually doing it because I want to make an impact in someone’s life. The experiences I had so far that led me to think I would like this career was being a problem solver in many situations that was either at home or school. It makes me happy to see that I have helped someone figure out their problems/situations.

The average cost of a social worker is $22.07 per credit hour and they make $45,900 per year. The personal qualities/characteristics needed to be successful as a social worker are empathy, patient, dependable, organized, and ect.
