Many people believe that sports revolve around the athletes that participate in the games,

but few know that top executives work 24/7 to put the best possible roster on the game field to

bring one common goal: success. I have chosen the job as a Sports Executive to pursue in the

future because I feel I have what it takes to gather success and deliver it to a sports organization.

As a sports executive, you have to do what’s right for your organization to prosper. You

have to devise strategies and policies to ensure that your organization meets its goals.

You have to draft certain players you feel are the right people to build around to ensure success

in the future. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH), the job of a sports

executive is projected to grow 11% by the years end. This job is in high demand because the

sports market is growing immensely because people are becoming immensely interested into

sports daily.

According to the North American Society for Sports Management (NASSM), the United

States universities and colleges are offering sports management as a degree more than ever due

to the implosion of interest in sports. The University of Florida, the University of Central

Florida, and Florida State University are some of the few universities that offer the degree in

sports management. You would need a Bachelor’s Degree to work in a sports organization, but

you would need a P.H.D to be extremely successful. The job is becoming more competitive, so
