Where does your power lie? Are you a leader? Or are you the follower? Either way, with the right tools, one can be empowered by holding the perfect skill set for their position. They are a special set of gifts given to followers of Jesus Christ. He instilled them into believers to be used to encourage and uplift the church body. They are also used to “strengthen the body, to produce unity, to be lights shining in the darkness, and to bring glory to God. This is done through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, through the gifts He gives us” (Arthur, Lawson, & Lawson, 2010, p. 1). Sadly, many believers do not even know they possess these precious gifts. The authors go on to state, “Each believer has at least one spiritual gift, no matter what his or her natural abilities” (Arthur, Lawson, & Lawson, 2010, p. 5). This is clearly stated in Ephesians 4:7-8 (New American Standard Bible), “But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore, it says, ‘When He ascended on high, He led captive a host of captives, and He gave gifts to men.’” Then He lists each one of them, plus their duties in Eph. 4:11-16. I cannot see a more worthwhile way of being empowered then by the Holy Spirit. Plus, by knowing one’s spiritual gifts they can be used in transformational leadership to help build the Kingdom of God for His glory. You can take your spiritual gift test here:
