Summary

Los Angeles police officer brutally shot and killed a black man of the age of 18 named Carell Snell. The officer's name has not been given out on who killed the man.
The officers tried to perform a traffic stop with the suspicion that the car Carnell and his buddy were driving was stolen. The car was tagged with paper tags which gave rise to the suspicion. Carnell fled from the officers initially in his car, eventually the vehicle did come to a halt, so Carnell and his buddy fled on foot. The two men escaped the car, and both officers charged after Carnell. Once the chase had entered the rear of a home two blocks away from the car, one of the officers opened fire and shot Carnell five times as he was running. Carnell was confirmed dead at the scene of the crime when the paramedics arrived.
Carnell’s friend had gotten away, both officers chased only Carnell. At the scene of the crime, a handgun was found on Carnell.

When apprehending someone, you may not open fire on them. In this situation if Cornell could have been perceived as a dangerous threat to the officers, or society, then the officers would have been in the right. But Cornell was initially only under suspicion for a stolen car. Even with the handgun being on Cornell, the officers did not know of this during the crime, and should not have affected the outcome, as he was not brandishing
