Carol Gilligan is an American feminist and psychologist born in 1936. Carol Gilligan worked with Lawrence Kohlberg, who was also an American psychologist in order to create their new theory on moral decisions. Carol Gilligan believed that whether or not a decision should be considered moral or unmoral should be based on the person’s relationship with the other person. Carol Gilligan ran a test where she asked a young girl and boy whether or not they believed it would be O.K to steal and expensive drug from a pharmacist if you were going to use it to heal a loved one. The boy argued that it would be O.K because human life is far more important than money while the young girl argued that the person should try to make an agreement with the pharmacist
