Thank you for sharing chapter 8 of your novel “Carrie Anne Pope gets a Bus.” Nice context was provided for Carrie Anne’s relationship with hiking and nature as well as how her parents fit within that activity and broadening the understanding of her relationship with them. For example, the line, “He never looked back to see if she was ok. (4)”, was well placed and illustrated the detachment that Carrie Anne’s dad had within his own character and could provide the set-up for future scenes between them and the overall conflict.
I also enjoyed the focus on the flowers and nature and I look forward to how Carrie Anne’s emerging knowledge of wildflowers mixes into the narrative. There’s something special there. For example, “Carrie Anne had found the first of her Texas Basin Bellflower (Campanula reverchonii) collection on that trip.
