You have been a Police Constable for about 14 years, yes? That is correct.
For the first 7 years, were you on traffic duty? Yes I was.
Then the last 7 years you have been on the homicide squad, correct? Yes I have been.
In the 7 years you were on the homicide squad, you spent your time on 2 cases that are still unsolved. Wouldn’t that question your ability to solve homicide cases? Yes, but they wasn’t enough evidence.
[Then why didn’t you hand them over to a different squad member?]
You seem very eager to solve a case, especially his one. Why is that? The evidence is clear and that means it’ll be easy to find the murderer
The proper police procedure is to interview all potential witnesses that are present in the case. Yet, the only potential witness you interviewed was Dr.Kimball. Why is that? The evidence strongly pointed to Dr.Kimball so I felt it wasn’t needed too.
You even stated that the reason you didn’t interview any other witnesses was because “ you believed Dr.Kimball had admitted to murdering his wife.” Doesn’t’ that mean you were already confident that you knew who committed the crime? Yes, like I said the evidence was pretty clear.
Regardless of what you think shouldn’t the procedure always be followed through? Well yes that is true.
Now, when Dr.Kimball stated that “This would have never happened if she had not cheated on me,” did you ask him what he meant exactly? No I did not.
