Internment of Japanese Americans in the Pacific Northwest

[CLAIM REGARDING MY POINT OF THIS PAPER]
On December 7, 1941 the Japanese fighter planes launched a devastating surprise attack on the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu Hawaii, destroying nearly 20 American naval vessels, eight battleships, and hundreds of airplanes. Not to mention more than 2,000 American soldiers and sailors that died and nearly 1,000 were wounded. Immediately following the events that took place President Roosevelt asked Congress to declare war on Japan unanimously. The attack lead to the start of World War II for the United States, though the war had been going on for a few years.
