1. Describe the personal attribute of Kalin; also outline what you think are his top three and what you think are your top three entrepreneurial attributes and answer why you selected those for yourself.
Kalin carries attributes such as: perseverance, courage, determination, perception, confidence, decisiveness and resourcefulness. Ot of all the attributes he has, Kalin has three strong attributes that helped him with his venture. These are determination, perseverance and resourcefulness. Kalin never gave on the vision he had, and that is to sell Feta cheese to those who are longing for the taste of home. He had hit so many walls many times but he was able to break them down and pursue on his vision to sell pallets and pallets of Feta Cheese. In the beginning he had difficulty because the person he was dealing with was not trustworthy, but this didn’t stop him from pursuing what he wanted. He was determined to start the business even without money. Due to his resourcefulness and perseverance he found a way to pay for the cheese through friends and families’ trust, he borrowed money from his colleagues and family in order to get the business started. Because of his resourcefulness too, that he was able to figure out how to pay the “wine guy” and ensure that he will receive the goods he paid for by collaborating with his aunt and having her oversee the order before payment of goods.
Kalin had so many other issues such as storage, the first storage he rented was willing only for the first year but after finding out that Kalin was dealing with another customer to rent out that customer’s space a higher rate, the storage owner kicked him out of the storage. But because Kalin was not one to be knocked down with issues like this, he was able to find another suitable storage. He had to make a tough decision whether to trust the storeowner with his cheese or not. Because he didn’t want the cheese to spoil he went and signed a deal with him. Later on the owner gave him his own keys to get to his cheese.
Kalin’s other resourcefulness was shown in packaging of his goods from his home. Because it was cold outside he knew he could the products outside and pack them there. He also found a way to not only sell the cheese door to door (commercial vendors) but to sell the products online. Again he had to use trust in order to make the transactions happen, this is another trait that Kalin has. He was able to put trust in others and take risks.
I am not one who shares the same traits with Kalin. I have found myself going into small time businesses many times, from selling sweet goods, to ladies purses to jewelry. None of them last long because I get easily distracted. The one attribute I can say that I share with him is being resourceful;
