The situation involving Matthew Donnelly and his sibling’s talks about ones decision to end their life. Matthew was told that he only has about a year to live due to possibly too much exposure contracted cancer and became blind. Matthew is in a situation that would draw many people to depression and in some situations want to die now. He not only lost his eyesight, he was given a death sentence of one year to live. Matthew asked his brothers to kill him. The youngest brother Harold brings a handgun to the hospital and shoots and kills his brother in his hospital bed.

I do agree wit the situation Matthew is placing on his brothers to murder him. Matthew is clearly extremely depressed and now suicidal. He is not thinking straight and now asks his brothers to commit murder. Regardless of the situation, this is wrong. Harold being the youngest,

I do not agree with Harold’s decision to shoot his brother. He should be punished for the crimes committed regardless of helping his brother. Harold and his brothers could have sought help for his brother. Matthew is sick and needs help from professionals to help him during the difficult time. In all, there are laws in place that make it illegal to kill a person as well as promoting suicide. I do not agree that people should be able to kill themselves, but I on the other hand have not experienced having a death sentence as cancer, and hope to never have it. A woman in Oregon was given a pill that would end her life due to the type of cancer she had. I have a hard time with this, because in my mind the doctor is promoting a suicide, and my police mentality says it should be illegal. I am not sure if there should be a law allowing this because there could be legal issues as well. What if some teenage kid found it and thought it was a drug to get high off of. If the kid took it and died, then
