Pontiac is a growing city, with a growing population. The community has grown to include approximately 2,200 school age children, as cited by suburbanstats.org, population demographics for 2017-2018. Pontiac, the Livingston County Seat, has grown to include a hospital, community college, many outpatient medical facilities, a state penitentiary, a Parks & Recreation department that includes an indoor pool and a free to use splash pad, along with many tourist activities and attractions; the newest of which will be another Splash Pad, located at Humiston Riverside Park, once the site of the Livingston County Jail. The newest offering by the City of Pontiac begs the question, "what about the kids".
