Cats vs. Dogs
Dogs have always been associated as man’s best friend, although others prefer the companionship of cats and consider them, their best friends.. Either way, dog or cat lover, we all can agree that cats and dogs have many similarities, but also differ in many ways. These mammals are two of the most popular pets we see today. Both are loveable and have something positive to offer to everyone. The similarities and differences of both dogs and cats should be carefully considered before one acquires a pet. One of the most pronounced similarities between these two animals is that the pair have hair. Although it’s soft and keeps them warm, they shed. They desire, love and affection from their keeper, and will show it in return. We show this by petting these animals, it doesn't just relieve stress, it also spreads the dog or cat hair, which in some cases causes the hair to fall out or shed. Both animals also give birth to multiple offspring at one time, which is a very hard task on the mother’s end. Both animals are easy to attach to, and with the right affection from both you and the animal they become a significant part of your family. Besides the similarities, there are also several differences between the two animals. Cats belong to the family of felines. This family includes ferocious animals such as the tiger, lion, jaguar and leopard. Unlike wild big cats, pet cats are solitary, meaning they can spend a lot of time by themselves without getting lonely. They actually enjoy spending time away from people

more. The sounds they make also differs from a dog. Commonly you will hear a “meow” or a
“purr” from a cat. They do this to comfort themselves. Unlike the big cats and dogs, pet cat’s do not have ranks that determine their social status. All cats are basically equal, one does not dominate over another. Another difference is the signals cats can give off. When a cat has its tail up in the air that shows a sign of happiness. Some other differences include that cats are nocturnal, meaning they go out at night and strive the best in the later hours. They also have retractable claws, unlike dogs. Cats seem to be very wellbalanced and way more flexible than dogs. Most would say that cats have a higher intelligence than dogs do also. On the other hand, dogs are canines. This family also includes wild animals like the coyote, fox and wolves. They run in packs. This means a dog can see your family as their
“pack”. Which is why they become protectors, and when they become alert of something a dog will woof, bark, growl, or howl, which is the complete opposite of a cat.
