PER REPORTER: Cataleya is a medically fragile child. She has specific medications to take regulary. It has to be compounded and is expensive. The mother has been getting the medicine but she is very limited mentally. Mom attends adult daycare Timber Hills in Corinth. Mom is not providing the child's main care but the grandmother is. The mother doesn't take Cataleya to most of her doctor visits, the grandmother does. If the mother was to take her, she can't fully understand directions from thedoctor. The grandmother constantly feels that she has to walk on eggshells around the mother. Mom threatens to not buy the baby medicine if the grandmother makes her mad. When he was about 2 years old, mom got mad at Dessa and to punish Dessa, she gave temporary custody of the child to mom's current boyfriend's mother. Mom admitted she did it to hurt Dessa. Dessa has an attorney and in court trying to get the boy back. Dessa fears mom will try to do this with Cataleya. Dessa doesn't have money to fight for Cataleya as well. Per reporter, Monique is unpredictable and very impulsive. With the child being as fragile as she is, Dessa is overly concerned about mom threats and if she will take the baby or not purchase her medicine. Dessa is scared to death to say anything about it because of what mom might do. The grandmother asked mom to sign the baby over to her so she can take care of her medically but mom won't do that. This has been going on for the past couple of months. Cataleya has DiGeorge Syndrome and Congenital Heart Disease. The other child has the same syndrome.
