The Boston Massacre was not really a massacre and was not a reason for revolution. A massacre is the killing of a large number of people and from my resources I found that only as many as five people died. It was called a massacre by the use of the propaganda picture in source B. It shows a photo which made it look like it was more brutal and it harmed more people than it really did. In fact, many important events led up to the massacre. One of the causes that got the british mad was how the british King tried to enforce laws/acts such as the Quartering act, Stamp act, etc. Another was when the british Soldiers were sent to America to enforce the Proclamation/laws but their presence in patriots houses made it worse and was an invasion of their homes. …show more content…
As said in on source C, “The mob increased and were more outrageous, striking their clubs one against another, and calling out, come on you rascals, you bloody backs, you lobster scoundrels, fire if you dare, G-d damn you, fire and be damned, we know you dare not, and much more such language was used”. Soon after, the British started firing cause they mightve felt like they were going to get harmed.The purpose of the Boston Massacre was to try to make liberal and moderate and the people interpreted it differently. It was really an accident and the patriots tried to use propaganda and turn something small into something big. The Boston Massacre was a misleading visual representation that basically all started by a simple peice of propaganda. It increased the hatred between the Americans and the British.
