The cell phone has become a part of society, but how is the cellphone seen by the three primary sociological theories? The three primary sociological theories are the structural-functional theory, social conflict theory, and the symbolic-interaction theory. In order to know how these theories would see the cell phone, we first need to know how they would look at the cell phone. Structural functionalism would look at how the cell phone fits in society as a part, how it affects society as a whole and the types of functions that the cell phone has in society. The social conflict theory would study how the cell phone has created social change through conflict. Lastly, the symbolic-interaction theory would determine the overall meaning that society
