Censorship In Kurt Vonnegut's Absolutely, Positively Not

To go along with the Censorship Unit, which was a series of note taking and writing responses to questions concerning censorship, one assignment that helped further my insight on censorship is the Banned Book project using the book Absolutely, Positively Not, by David Larochelle. This particular assignment taught me how to judge the reasoning on why the specific book is either challenged our already banned because of what was instructed to do. The Banned Book project consisted of reading a banned book and presenting a slideshow to a whole class arguing whether or not the novel should continue to be banned or to be available to read at libraries. One of my responses I find my best work is the response for the first question about Kurt Vonnegut’s letter titled “You Have Insulted Me”. The response states, “Kurt Vonnegut is a credible source because it states, “I have raised six children, three my own and three adopted. They all turn out all…” (4). Kurt is credible because because he had raised children and experienced influencing them. The most interesting part in Vonnegut’s poem is that children won’t be easily influenced by books with realistic situations that could be sensitive to others”. The written response is one piece of work I am proud of because this response was one of my best ones compared to the rest of the responses in the Censorship Unit packet. Also, improvement in my analysis skills can be noticed throughout the whole unit because I was able to interpret what the author wanted to express about their view on censorship. In addition, a strength in using proper pieces of evidence can be seen based on the responses written in the packet. Even though I believe I wrote some proficient sentences and notes, there are some major flaws that I wished I was able to
