Cerritos Museum Art Analysis: Above The Clouds

The location I went to was the Cerritos library on Bloomfield Avenue. I arrived at about 12:30 in the afternoon. The library stretched up to three stories in height. The building was definitely modern looking, with shinning gold walls on some sides. It stands out from the rest of the town because of how elegant it looks. On the inside there was a 15-20 foot fish tank which also contained some sharks as well. The interior also has many different areas to look at. There was a kid’s section, an adult section, an art section and much more.
The first picture was called Above the Clouds by Hung Liu. It was made in Changchun, China. It is 78 inches by 114 inches. In this painting, it appears that there are children sitting at a desk working diligently

The texture was rough on the canvas with some paint that built up. There was a focal point at the center of the piece where the kids were working on their desks. The type of painting was made without the blending of different colors.
I was not entirely sure what to think about this piece. It could be trying to send a message to all people who don’t work as hard. Saying even if the kids can do it, you can do it. It just takes the right mind set. The artist’s view of the world might be scene in different ways. It’s too hard to tell from a picture that doesn’t have any hints of religion or not. The artwork does fit in with my beliefs. I think it’s always good to have the right mind set. With the right mind set you can accomplish anything with hard work, such as it showed the two kids working on a desk in the picture.
This piece was untitled, and was made in 1986 on drawing paper. It was 60 inches by 103 inches. From what I could see, it was a painting with a mix of pencil drawing. The subject matter I think is for everyone to decide. It looked a little like waves, but black and white waves to be exact. My attention was drawn to this piece because it was so unique and something I would have never thought to draw. It was also very abstract and wild. So many things seemed to be happening at
