During my sophomore year in high school, I was determined to complete a CNA course and become a certified nursing assistant. I pushed through the 80 hours of classes and clinicals and passed my state tests shortly after. I became employed at the local nursing home and strived to be the CNA who the residents knew always had a smile on. After a year of working here, I decided it was not working out and it wasn’t the work environment I wanted to be a part of. At this time I was given information about another job that involved caring for one person.
