Cesar Chavez was a true american hero. He was a farm worker when he was only ten years old. He was also a first generation american meaning that he was the first generation in his family to be born in the USA. Chavez knew how farm workers were treated and they were often exploited by their employers. His dream was to create an organization to protect and serve farm workers. Cesar Chavez wanted to protect the rights of farmers by creating an organization and and he helped farm workers because he personally knew what it is like to to be treated as a farm worker.
