In the 1960's Cesar Chavez was a farmer from Arizona who was part of a group called the Community Service Organization and fought for the rights of farmers. In the movie he decides he needs to move to California with his family in order to organize unions for grape pickers who made only two dollars an hour. Here he organizes a march from Delano to Sacramento due to the Vineyards owners who plotted against him with the law. He also went to markets and even Europe to persuade customers not to buy some brands of wine and grapes. All in all Chavez lead a movement and has many building and monuments throughout California and Arizona. He gave the small people a voice and showed that you really can do what you set your mind too. You see truck drivers in Greece protest wage leading to delivery failures to gas stations and super markets. You also see this in the Black Lives Matter movement throughout the country. These protest, some peaceful and some not, are goal driven such as Chavez march from city to city. The protest are meant to give small people a voice and be seen on a big scale. Protest seem to be a very successful way to get your message across, and today you see a lot more people discussing matters they may not have due to the protests. The movie also shows corruption of business and that is also seen very much in todays world. In the movie the vineyards only pay the pickers two dollars an hour and do whatever they can to keep it that way. Although it may not due with wages, Volkswagen cheated on one of their emission tests, leading to a recall on millions of cars. This was covered up by the company and they had a special device or software that would turn on during tests and change the emission of the car. This shows company and business corruption is still very much alive and present in today's
