Throughout a persons life that person may hit chaos and may think they can't gain order. The play "The Tempest" written by William Shakespeare, explores the idea of chaos to order. The play begins with a ship full of people, and this ship wrecks unto this mysterious island. During the play theres a king and people from the shipwreck try and gain power over this island and bu doing that they would have to kill the king. Characters thought that their peers were dead or drowned, but really they were on the island the whole time. At the end of the play two of the characters fall in love and instantly get married, and the great king forgave all his peers. During chaotic events, a person often ends up emotionally out of order and cant seem to find their way back. In the same way, the ship tossed and turned the people had lost all hope of survival. Thus, the ship represents people feeling like they are sinking and nothing can get back into place. One of the survivors says, "I thought he was dead struck by lighting". This is the feeling people feel when they are hit by certain things all at once they lose all hope of survival. Getting struck by lighting is suggesting that people may not be able to gain peace again their life may always be chaotic.
Shakespeare uses the character Miranda to help maintain the theme of chaos to order. He uses Miranda's love life to illustrate her trying find hope again but bringing more chaos to the situation. One of the lovers says, 'I'll bear your logs the while." Suggest that they would do anything in their power to get back into order. When using Miranda it is suggesting that love can not fix the chaotic events in a persons life. It only brings more chaos to the
