Chapel Hill High School is located in the Douglasville Ga. It currently provides educational service for 1176 students. The school serves students in grades 9-12 and is split pretty evenly between black and white students with a small population of Hispanic and other ethnicity. In the school there are 31% of the students who are considered “economically disadvantaged” and 39% get reduced or free lunch. The school employees 14 members for its administrative staff and 100 teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff members. The study will be focused on providing services to the math department in which there are 10 staff members. The administrative team will also support and take part in the study and have granted permission for the study to occur. Chapel Hill High was established in 1999 and is one of five high schools located in Douglas County, GA.

Survey results from students who were exposed to iPad usage in a classroom for the first time were overwhelming in support of having an iPad as a teaching tool. (Audi, 54). It is proposed that proper training of the teachers in the usage of an iPad as a teaching tool will directly impact student engagement and result in a more effective teaching environment. This type of training has been conducted in professional development sessions in other locations with the desired results. (Kearney, 84) The focus of this capstone will be similar to Kearney in that the focus will be more on implementation of the iPad rather than the impact on test
